Our Curriculum this month:

Reading :  We are starting our first Unit in Reading Workshop. We will learn about how we are all readers and that we all enjoy different types of books.

In Wilson fundations we will be starting to learn our lowercase letters and sounds. We will learn to write the lowercase letters.

Writer's Workshop: We are starting our first unit in Writer's Workshop. We will discover that we are all writers and we have special stories to tell. We will tell our stories with pictures and sharing conversations.

In class Juan Pablo teaches us how to be a kind and caring friend. Below are some of the phrases we us in class to help us learn to make good choices.

The phrases we use in class are in parentheses.

Please ask you child about these and reinforce them at home too.

        Wear blue clothing.

 

Tuesday:  “Put Your Best Foot Forward”: Dress for the occasion and wear your

                     best outfit for the day.

 

Wednesday: "Stand & WALK Together Against Bullying":  Wear school colored

                               clothing – blue & yellow

                      **Join the AHES TRAIN – In recognition of National Walk to School Day we will be creating a walking train down First Avenue from the Harbor Playground to school.  The train will leave the “harbor station” at 8:00 am sharp.  We are happy to pick up passengers along the way on the school side (East side) of First Avenue.  Parents and siblings are welcome to join us for the walk. Students coming from the west side of First Avenue will need to be crossed over by parents using the crosswalks, or at the corner of First Avenue and East Washington by the crossing guard.

 

Thursday:  "Team up and Stay Safe":  Wear a team jersey or t-shirt

 

Friday:  “Hats off to you for showing respect to yourself and others!”:   Wear

                   your favorite hat to school
