Important Ongoing Information for Art:

*Your child will need a smock for Art Class

I recommend that all students in grades K through 6 keep smocks at school to protect their clothing—but there’s no need to go out and make a purchase! Any oversized, short-sleeved shirt will do.

*Donating Materials to the Art Room

A big thank-you to those of you who have generously donated all kinds of supplies to my classroom over the years!  If you are interested in donating to our Art Program, please check out my Amazon Classroom Wishlist via the PTO website.

I can always use the following: disinfecting wipes (for the tables), and child-appropriate magazines.

*Parent Volunteers

I have always been very lucky to have amazing parent volunteers who have helped to prepare our Spring Art show each June.

This year's Art Show will take place on Wednesday, June 10, from 5pm to 7pm!

If you are interested in helping out this year, please email me.  I also welcome any parents who are artists to come in and share their talents with the students!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 732-291-2020 x1020, or

Thank you!

Challenge Art Program

The AHES Challenge Art Program offers advanced art classes with an exclusive focus on traditional fine art skills and techniques--realistic rendering, contour drawings, dimension through value, proportions, etc.  (Other art forms--such as abstract art, comics and cartooning, textiles, sculpture, printmaking, etc.--are explored in depth throughout the year in Art class.)  All students are evaluated for Challenge Art during the first few weeks of school, with drawing exercises designed to assess their skill levels.  Students must demonstrate an exceptional quality of work above and beyond grade level in order to be admitted to the class.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding this program.
